This is a set of five of Yamaha's hard-to-find and highly coveted MZ-Series drum microphones from the 1980s. More specifically, the following:
- 1 x MZ105be Snare Mic
- 1 x MZ204 Kick Mic
- 3 x MZ205be Tom Mics
The "be" stands for beryllium, which is what the diaphragm is made from in those mics. It's super durable and lightweight, designed and tuned for drum recording.
These mics are built like real tanks, not figurative tanks. Just look at the knurled machined swivels and genius side-protruding XLR barrels and unlimited rotating mic possibilities.
Oh, and they sound incredible. It's really hard to find just one of these let alone a complete set like this. Acquiring this full set took me years but I'm in a position where I have to set them free. Buy them you will not regret it the way I will regret selling them.
The mics come in this super cool briefcase, and the MZ105be has its original clip and case as well.
