Little is known about the TGE 8CS Graphic Equalizer aside from the facts and clues available to us within it.
What we do know:
- Japanese-made 8 band (ie 8 cycle, ie 8CS) Graphic Equalizer
- Fully discrete inductor based active design
- Transformer balanced in and out
- Extremely well-built with the finest Japanese-made inductors, transformers, and components
- Discrete switched sliders for each band
- Shares form-factor and frequencies with the Langevin 252a (and Altec 1602a)
- Has a built in PSU
- Looks and sounds incredible
This is the only TGE 8CS we have come across, and it was clearly designed and built to the highest standards and likely used in the most critical and demanding audio applications in its time. It has been fully serviced by Mike Stucker and is in excellent working order. The EQ sounds wonderful and has been used in our studio on everything from vocals to kick drums, snare drums, and bass.
