This Sony C37p is in perfect working order with its original C3 capsule and diaphragm. It comes with in an original C38b flight case which fits the mic perfectly. The microphone is in near-mint condition cosmetically, and the shock-absorbing bushings in the yoke mount have been replaced with new rubber for decades of reliable use.
The C37p is the solid state FET version of the Sony C37a. It uses the same exact capsule and nearly identical body as the C37a, but with a solid state amplifier and matching output transformer. Like it's older brother, it has incredible headroom making it a perfect candidate for loud sources like drums and guitar amps, but it performs admirably in other applications like vocals and as an ambient microphone.
The Sony C3 capsule has an acoustic chamber that can be manually opened and closed with a screw driver from the back of the microphone. Opening the chamber makes it uni-directional, closing the chamber makes it omnidirectional.
