DETAILED DESCRIPTION (click to expand)

A very unique and rare pair of near-consecutive
(only 24 serials apart) hyper-directional dynamic mics with their original
clips in perfect working order. These appear to be compact dynamic shotgun mics, but sonically they have an excellent and balanced midrange, and generally hi-fi full-range sound. Because of their directionality,
they are perfect as supplemental mics on close drums, especially snare, to get
midrange clarity and crack without cymbal bleed. I have personally loved them
as supplemental vocal mics to help a lead vocal cut through a mix by
compressing and blending this mic in with a traditional vocal mic instead of
using EQ. It is surprisingly effective in this application because it’s
midrange is so well balanced, and it has a smooth and natural low and high roll
off without sounding lo-fo at all. These mics perform remarkably well on their own as well. I wish I had more time with these, because I
bet they absolutely rip on guitar amps and other sources as well. In fact, I'm probably going to put them on a guitar amp in our next session.

Like all Sanken mics, they are extremely well built and overengineered from all-steel or
aluminum parts, including their matching clips.

The recording below was made entirely using only this pair of MU-2's. This is our second original Microphone Jingle, written and performed by Lewis Rogers. There is no processing on any of the tracks.

We also have the original multitrack stems if you'd like to hear the mic on individual sources. Please reach out for access.
