Two 44BX's that have spent their entire lives together. #107 is in great original condition - including its original ribbon. Both were sent to Cole Suddarth (Cole Picks Vintage) for servicing, and he said that the original ribbon in this mic was perfect and it didn’t need replacing. Cosmetically it’s a solid 8.5 out of 10 with some. minor blemishes and paint chips. The only things that have been replaced are the mic cable and XLR, and we replaced the dried out bushings with brand new ones from Big D’s mics. This is a great 44BX.
The other 44BX, #104, got a new ribbon that was matched to the first. The two mics were
used as a pair. This second one is cosmetically a B-minus with some minor corrosion on the bottom of the body and has a brand new yoke and shock mount from AEA – the fancy one that’s a spot-on copy of the original.
