DETAILED DESCRIPTION (click to expand)

This near-consecutive NOS Oktava ML19 microphone came from a factory-sealed crate from the Oktava factory. The ML19 is an incredible ribbon mic that requires expert knowledge to reach its full potential - especially after sitting unused for forty years. That's why this NOS pair has been fully restored, cleaned, optimized, and upgraded with a new ribbon, cable, and Neutrik connector.

The deteriorating foam has been replaced with custom-made foam specifically for the ML19. The ribbon motors have been extensively cleaned, and Cole (Picks) Suddarth has carefully replaced the poorly installed original ribbons. Original mic cables have been upgraded with new XLR connectors.

These mics include their original cases, stands, documentation, and passports. The ML19 is essentially the Soviet BK5, but after restoration and a few tweaks, they outperform the BK5 in every application. I've used ML19s for over 20 years in countless scenarios - lead vocals, string quartets, chunky riffs, kick drums, overheads, banjo, and more. It's arguably the best value to performance ratio on the vintage ribbon mic market.

Yes, you can find "NOS" ML19s cheaper on Reverb, but consider this: between shipping, tax, repair costs, and return shipping, you'll likely spend as much or more than we're asking for these already fully restored, matched, tested, dead-mint ML19s - plus you'll avoid the hassle and long wait of getting them properly serviced.
