The 82a9 is a very rare LOMO dynamic mic, and looks beautiful to boot. We have photos in our archive of the 82a9 being used as talkback mics on the greatest
Soviet consoles, and documentation also shows that they were used as reporter's mics.
This pair shows serial number 690058 (the 58th mic made in 1969) and 710021 (the 21st mic made in 1971).
This set comes with two 82a9 microphones in good working order (a rarity for this already rare mic), the original Soviet suitcase, two non-original soviet mic clips, and two cables - one with a soviet military connector on one end, and the other with the rare original connector. Both have XLR outputs.
The mic was designed for voice recording, and has a limited frequency range for this purpose (I believe it’s 80Hz – 8KHz). This conveniently makes it well suited for guitar amps or as a colorful drum kit or room mic. If you listen to the sample recording, you'll see that it holds up in a very unique and musical way.
I've snatched up every 82a9 I could find, which adds
up to about seven of them in 20 years. Three of them never worked at all, two sounded bad or weird, one was like new, and then these two that sound very good.
