76-3 The LOMO 19a19 was the last tube microphone designed and manufactured by the Soviet Union, and is one of the finest tube mics we've ever heard.
This is a rare complete orignal set, and it is in exceptional condition. It comes in its original Soviet Mint steel case with its original shock mount, original windscreen, super rare original wooden mic case, a spare NOS 6S31B tube (the hard to find Soviet version of the AC701K), and quality cabling with the original impossible to find mic connector.
The 19a19 microphone is completely original, including its edge-terminated capsule, diaphragm, and internal electronics.
The 20B99 PSU is the original chassis but with a modern replacement inside. The original 20B99 electronics are prone to failure, and finding new power transformers that both fit and are to spec is a huge challenge, so putting a new modern PSU is a good idea for long-term reliable use, and to provide a 110/120V option for use in the USA. The 20B99 doesn't contain any audio electronics (like the 20B35/19a9), so having the original PSU electronics is not critical to the sound of the microphone.
We offer a capacitor replacement and upgrade kit for the 19a19 which makes a subtle yet noticeable improvement in low frequency extension and top end smoothness and euphonics. It involves replacing the MBM electrolytic coupling capacitor with a very rare NOS K76-3 cellulose acetate audio cap, and then also replacing the other capacitors with modern equivalents.
