DETAILED DESCRIPTION (click to expand)

The Aiwa DM-68a is one of our favorite mics on this website. The DM68a differs from the DM68 only in that it has an XLR output instead of the Japanese 3-pin DIN-style connector and mating cable. It is otherwise identical.

You may notice its striking resemblance to the infamous AKG D19, and that's because its a pretty darn close copy. If you compare their frequency response charts, this is a dead ringer. Personally I've never used a functioning D19 before, and my understanding is that it's extremely hard to find one that's working and sounding the way it should be anyway. But I can say for a fact that the DM-68 not only sounds incredible, but it also appears to be much more durable because I've picked up eight of them so far, and every single one works perfectly and sounds just like the other ones. When recording our mic demos, this mic completely blew me away on every source, even when compared to ribbons and condensers. The make handles high SPLs with ease, and has a high-pass filter switch on the body. Like every professional Aiwa mic I've seen, the build quality is first-rate.

This particular DM-68 has it's original suitcase, but no other accessories. It will ship with a decent clip. It's in good cosmetic condition, but has some scuffs and signs of use. Sounds exactly like it should.

The recording below was made using four Aiwa DM68s. It's our original Microphone Jingle, written and performed by Damion. There is no processing on any of the tracks.
