DETAILED DESCRIPTION (click to expand)

This is the rarest, most exquisite, and truly perfect ML15 that I’ve ever seen, and the only one of it’s kind as far as I know.

It’s the only ML15 from the year 1958 that's been known to exist, although being serial number 18 means presumably there were at least 17 others, though that's questionable too. It is also the only ML15
with an olive green crinkle coat paint job and heavy-duty hole-perforated grill, which has otherwise only appeared on the super rare MRTP ML15, the governmental special-order version of the mic. And on top of all that, it's definitely the only dead-mint NOS example I've ever seen and comes in the only ML15 suitcase I've ever seen. And this is why the price is what it is.

We acquired it in NOS condition in its original suitcase with the original proprietary 3-pin Soviet connector, which is included with the mic.

The ML15 is arguably the best sounding Soviet ribbon microphone ever manufactured, and this particular one is the crown jewel of them all. This mic is incredibly hard to part with, but the studio has a less handsome
stereo pair from 1959 that will be the ones we keep (and risk dinging). This microphone looks and sounds like it’s from a Soviet fairy tale and there isn’t another one like it in the whole world. This is a museum-grade collector’s piece, but I would prefer that it goes to a studio/artist that will use it.

The recording below was made entirely using only this ML15. This is our second original Microphone Jingle, written and performed by Lewis Rogers. There is no processing on any of the tracks.

We also have the original multitrack stems if you'd like to hear the mic on individual sources. Please reach out for access.
