DETAILED DESCRIPTION (click to expand)

The 19a35 is a super rare Soviet FET LDC transformerless condenser from the 80s, and this mic really sounds incredible. This mic was developed by CKBK, and manufactured by NPO / Ekran in extremely small quantities for internal use. The mic is built exceptionally well, can withstand very high SPLs, and has a full, clear, and fast sound to it that works exceptionally well on anything you put it in front of. I've used it on kick drums, vocals, bowed instruments, snare drums, and guitar amps. If you're familiar with Nevaton microphones, you'll notice that the 19a35 looks just like them. This is because the guys that started Nevaton in the 90's, after the fall of the Soviet Union, were the engineers who designed this series of LOMO mics for the USSR, and then brought their designs with them when they started Nevaton.

It's a multi-pattern double-sided center-terminated large diaphragm capsule with four polar patterns (card, wide-card, figure 8 and omni) that are switchable with a thumbwheel switch below the capsule. The mic also has a -10dB pad on the other side of the capsule, and a red LED sits below the front of the mic indicating when the mic is receiving power. The 19a35 accepts +48V phantom power.

The recording below was made entirely using only this LOMO 19a35 in cardioid. This is our second original Microphone Jingle, written and performed by Lewis Rogers. There is no processing on any of the tracks.

We can provide you with the same recording of this mic in all of its polar patterns. We also have the original multitrack stems if you'd like to hear the mic on individual sources. Please reach out for access.
